with these missions.
The United Methodist Church supports 7 different apportioned funds. Our financial support to apportioned funds comes from tithes, financial gifts and fundraising activities.
Groceries for God is a BVMUMC fundraising activity where the proceed go directly to apportioned funds. Church members can purchase grocery certificates to Dillons or Ray's Apple Market. The grocery certificates are used like cash at the store. Dillons donates 3% and Ray's Apple Market donates 5% of the face value of the certificates back to the church. Cheryl Hawkinson collects orders and distributes the certificates for BVMUMC. Orders for Dillons certificates are taken on the 1st Sunday and delivered on the 2nd Sunday of each month. Orders for Ray's certificates are taken on the 2nd Sunday and delivered on the 3rd Sunday of each month.
We have a covenant relationship with Phyllis Crouse, a missionary serving as the librarian at Red Bird Mission School in Beverly, KY.
Provides health products, canned goods and perishable foods, including eggs to the local community. In addition to monthly donations of food and clothing, volunteers from our church work in the clothing distribution center.
Helps struggling families become self- reliant through gifts of livestock and training. We collect quarters every Sunday for this mission.
Fundraiser for local hunger relief. Members of our church participate in the Walk and also sponsor walkers.
Food, clothing, and emergency supply drive that distributes items throughout eastern Kansas, the United States, and abroad. We generously donate supplies to the drive.
Building simple, decent, affordable housing for local families in need.
Provides rent, utilities, prescription assistance, and budget counseling to those in need. Church members participate in fundraising efforts.
Campus Ministry which offers worship, study and peer support to the campus community. BVMUMC makes financial donations to this important ministry.
Retirement Center located in Manhattan, KS. Our Pastors lead worship at Meadowlark Hills once a month.
One of the largest nonprofit, child welfare agencies in Kansas , specializing in foster care, adoption, psychiatric treatment, counseling and therapy.
